Packers get Favre's heir apparent?

I was thrilled watching the draft as Green Bay's turn came closer and former Cal QB Aaron Rodgers was still on the board. I was looking ahead and thought they had a decent shot of getting him and sure enough he was still there when the Packers picked 24th in the first round. Some people criticized it since Rodgers probably won't play at all this year, except maybe in mop up duty if the Pack has a big lead, but I thought it was a good move. You have a future Hall of Famer at QB who is 36 and has talked the past couple of off seasons about retirement, so you snatch up talent like this when you can get it. I think Favre might come back for one more year after this, two at most and then be done. Or he could even call it quits after this season, who knows?

Hopefully Rodgers has a long career ahead of him as the future starting QB of the Packers.
